The OpenOffice.org project aims to "create, as a community, the leading international office suite that will run on all major platforms and provide access to all functionality and data through open-component based APIs and an XML-based file format".
The OpenOffice.org includes the key desktop applications, such as a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation manager, and drawing program, with a user interface and feature set similar to other office suites.
Sophisticated and flexible, OpenOffice.org also works transparently with a variety of file formats, including those of Microsoft Office.

SETwomen is a proposed new community, resource and voice for women in Science, Engineering and Technology at all stages in their career across academia, industry and enterprise.

IT can be used for crime, but it can also be used to fight it.
Immobilise is the worlds largest FREE register of possession ownership details and database of stolen property and blocked mobile phones. It is endorsed by all the UK Police forces and is the only system connected to the National Police Stolen Property Database. Registering your possesions on Immobilise not only greatly improves the chances of having your item returned but also helps identify criminals and reduce crime. -

TiddlyWiki is a reusable non-linear personal web notebook. It is like a blog because it's divided up into neat little chunks, but it encourages you to read it by hyperlinking rather than sequentially.
We, at Small Spark, are finding that it is useful for information management - it's portable and text-based - and task lists.
It lets you link items to one another, which makes referencing easy.
Cambridgeshire's libraries have made a wealth of resources available to the public, which remains relatively ignored, be it on site, online and through its capable and friendly staff.
