Enterprise Link Talk - Getting more out of Microsoft Word
Agnès Aubert from Small Spark will continue the series of hands-on software demos that have proven very popular with Enterprise Link members before - as described in the 'Excel Must Haves' piece below.
On 10th October, Agnès will show some of the shortcuts and techniques to get the best out of Microsoft Word – for example, how to format a report, create a template, insert a contents page, use columns, etc. Time allowing, of course!

Small Spark Changes
It is both with deep sadness and a feeling of excitement that, in August, Small Spark said goodbye to Kath McGuire, who co-founded Small Spark and ran it jointly with Agnès Aubert.
Kath's passion, expert skills and catchy enthusiasm have shaped Small Spark from the start and more than contributed to its success. It has been a real pleasure for Agnès to work with Kath, both before Small Spark and since its creation. Naturally, she will greatly miss Kath.
Kath is preparing an exciting trip to Sri Lanka, where from January 2009 she will spend three months teaching English as a foreign language. Those of you who have met Kath know what a great teacher she is and how passionate she is about helping others.
Although sad at Kath's departure from Small Spark, Agnès is excited at her friend's plan and - as some of you have also done - she wishes her all the best in this new chapter of her life. We all look forward to hearing all about the trip in due course!
Small Spark is still run by Agnès, who will carry on the spark and passion that is Small Spark's trade mark.
Small Spark and its services will continue to evolve as they have done before, which will continue to be reflected on this website.
As before, Small Spark is happy to work in partnership with other like-minded professionals so as to give its clients the best possible service.
If you have any question about Small Spark or its services, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Excel Must Haves
Enterprise Link and Small Spark presented an interactive Excel talk, lunch and networking event at the St John's Innovation Centre on Friday 16th May 2008.
Following the success of their Outlook interactive talk, Agnès and Kath came back to guide you through Excel.
The focus of this first Excel interactive talk was to give you key tools and information on how to safely and effectively manipulate data, including Freezing Panes, Sorting, Grouping, Filtering, Autofill and Paste Special.
You can download the handout from this event - a spreadsheet with explanations and walked through examples - from Enterprise Link's website.
Thank you!
Kath and Agnès would like to thank Enterprise Link's Jane Darlington for all her hard work and support, as well as the event's attendees whose enthusiasm and keen participation made the event interesting and pleasurable both to present and to attend.
Feedback
We are really pleased that this event was well received, as indicated by some of the attendees' feedback:
“A superb non jargon presentation - very useful!”
“The presentation was really interesting and useful.”
“Very useful meeting!”
Some attendees were raring to learn some more:
“Can we have another one covering further topics - e.g. charts?”
We have not yet got a date for the next Small Spark/Enterprise event, but watch this space! Do not hesitate to contact us or Enterprise Link to register your interest and be the first to book your place!
Tip: Custom lists in Excel – Alphabet
One of our attendees asked how to create a list in Excel so that you create an alphabetical list without having to type it all up. Please here to find out how to do it.
If you have any question on the topics raised during this interactive talk, if you need help with Excel or spreadsheets or if you would like us to run a similar interactive talk, feel free to contact us.
